Tempore is a multidisciplinary editorial project that investigates the boundaries of utopian thinking by reimagining time as a subjective, lived reality. Conceived as a tangible visual narrative, the project explores a fictional world where temporal rhythm is deeply personal rather than universally imposed, allowing individuals born at the same moment to age and experience life at entirely different speeds. Free from the constraints of rigid schedules, productivity metrics, and standardized milestones, Tempore challenges conventional perceptions of existence, shifting the value of life from its chronological duration to the authenticity, depth, and consciousness of human experience.
The narrative structure unfolds around this conceptual premise, examining how two contrasting temporal cadences coexist. Through the intersecting perspectives of Dean, a fast-paced photographer whose craft redefines purposeful labor, and Edna, a slow-paced educator who frames mortality as a natural temporal fulfillment, the publication creates a dual-voiced dialogue on empathy and perception. By weaving their distinct rhythms and personal emotional diaries together, the project illustrates how subjective realities can harmonize, transforming abstract philosophical questions into an immersive, human-centered story.

Editorial production and materials
The physical and graphic choices of Tempore are conceived to translate a conceptual utopia into a tactile, dreamlike experience. The visual language relies heavily on a bitmap processing—a deliberate degradation of detail that reduces photographs to surreal, memory-like fragments. A vibrant, symbolic purple punctuates the publication, embodying imagination and bridging the characters’ separate realities.
Materiality plays a structural role in the storytelling: the narrative begins at the opposite ends in raw black and white, progressing inward through contrasting paper weights and textures until converging at the center fold in a saturated purple encounter. The tactile sequence is enriched by iridescent silver paper, which catches light dynamically and echoes the surrealist imagery inspired by René Magritte—from raining blooms to bottled poetic fragments. Bound by hand, the final publication bridges rigorous typographical rhythm with delicate material craft, transforming the intangible perception of time into an intimate artifact.
