pick a window
Born from the collaboration with Triciclo, a historic second-hand store in Turin, the initiative aims to attract new audiences by transforming second-hand shopping into an emotional and participatory experience. The concept highlights objects as authentic keepers of memories and past experiences, capable of weaving their own stories into those of their future owners while positioning the cooperative as the guardian of this narrative heritage. The project focuses on authenticity, transparency, and simplicity to build a meaningful connection between people, objects, and the ethical and social values promoted by the organization.
The core of the initiative is ‘Peek/pick a window’, a modular public-space installation made of interlocking forex panels arranged at 120-degree angles to create six interactive surfaces. The structure combines the display of featured objects with collectible illustrated postcards, stylized window surfaces for visitors to share thoughts, and informational panels dedicated to Triciclo’s mission. Following the temporary urban exhibition, the installation is integrated into the cooperative’s headquarters, becoming a permanent device for storytelling and community engagement.

Free postcards distributed at the installation: each one tells the memory of a person connected to a special object, such as a pasta machine, a Monopoly game, a backpack, and many others. These postcards remind us that objects are not merely material things, but true witnesses of stories, emotions, and lived lives.
